Oh the Child has gone to bed tonight,
The child lays down to pray,
He thanks the Lord for those he loves,
He thanks Him for his day.

He prays for peace and comfort
Protect him through the night,
Keep at bay the evil ones,
Protect him till it’s light.

Where have all the children gone?
Where do they run and play?
What was said what was there done,
that made them run away?

The playgrounds bare there's no one there,
where have the people gone?
The dreams and lies we fed grew stale,
and so they moved away.


Yes the Child has gone to sleep tonight,
At peace without a care,
Mindless of the monsters that,
Howl outside his lair,

His bed is like a castle
The tall dark towers rise
Peaceful guardians watch him there,
They watch him from the skies.

The shining lights you hide behind
are all a weak facade.
We play the game, destroy our lives,
then give them back to God.

We hide behind our nursery rhymes,
